Meet Dr. Katie
Get to know Dr. Katie Meier, Psy.D.
Katie is a New Jersey Licensed Psychologist and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years of experience. Five years after completing her master’s degree in social work Katie returned to school to obtain her doctorate in counseling psychology. This combination of education and licensing gives Katie a unique perspective, combining both social work and counseling psychology.
Experience
With 15 years of experience in the mental health field, Dr. Katie has spent the last decade focused on providing individual therapy in both private practice and community mental health settings. She has also worked with individuals involved in the criminal justice system and in psychiatric hospital settings, giving her experience supporting clients with diverse backgrounds and a wide range of mental health concerns.
Education & Training
Dr. Meier has her Doctorate in Counseling Psychology from St. Elizabeth’s University (2022), her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Rutgers School of Social Work (2012), and her Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from Moravian University (2007). Dr. Katie has training in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for Eating Disorders, and Prolonged Exposure Therapy.

At this time Pillar Psychology does not have a physical office but is hoping to have one in 2027. For now, all sessions are virtual, using a secure Telehealth platform.
